Scholarship Description:The first main task of the successful applicant will be to co-develop and document teaching of neutron scattering science and techniques. The model course at University of Copenhagen is performed at the M.Sc. and PhD levels and concerns both theory of neutron scattering, ray-tracing simulation techniques, and hands-on experiments.

The second task of the applicant is to develop methods to use the McStas ray-tracing package to generate virtual data for instruments for the European Spallation Source (ESS). These virtual data will be used as input to new data analysis tools, developed at the ESS Data Management and Software Center and within the international collaboration MANTID. and be experienced in neutron scattering and related data analysis. The applicants must be familiar with Monte Carlo simulations with McStas, including virtual experiments, and have experience with teaching and e-learning.
