Employer: F·MAT innovation consortium
Study Subject:Optimal Design of Porous Materials
Level:PhD
Scholarship Description:Applications are invited for a 3-year PhD position starting summer 2011, within the field of optimal design at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Technical University of Denmark. The F·MAT innovation consortium is led by the Danish Technological Institute (DTI) and comprises research groups at DTU Mechanical Engineering as well as several industrial partners. The purpose of the innovation consortium is to develop new functional materials for the benefit of Danish industry based on the newest fabrication technologies and optimal micro-structural design.
The purpose of the PhD-project is to develop systematic methods for optimal design of three-dimensional porous materials. Special focus will be on optimizing the dynamic properties of materials such as the energy absorption.Candidates should have a master’s degree in theoretical or computational mechanics or a similar degree with an academic level equivalent to the master’s degree in engineering.
Scholarship Application Deadline: May 27th, 2011
